Simon Thomson

Dr. Thomson has more than 10 years of experience leading research evaluations, policy analyses and bibliometric studies for public and private sector agencies around the world. This includes working on research assessments and research landscape studies for various UK Research Councils and the Wellcome Trust; leading a project for Universities UK to review the future of research, assessing research impact and collaboration for the Innovative Medicines Initiative; managing a national research assessment for the Indian Department of Science and Technology;  and performing researcher gender and mobility analyses for the Egyptian Knowledge Bank. Dr. Thomson also led Clarivate’s provision of citation data to the UK Research Excellence Framework 2021.
